Violence Isn’t Always Physical

If you are unsure whether what you’re experiencing is violence, here are some common signs:

  • Emotional abuse – insults, threats, put-downs, manipulation.

  • Financial abuse – controlling money or preventing access to it.

  • Sexual harm – any unwanted or forced sexual activity.

  • Isolation – being cut off from friends, whānau, or support.

  • Coercive control – ongoing behaviours that cause fear, dependence, or loss of freedom.

You are not to blame.

You and your children deserve to be safe.

Help is available 24/7.
