Christmas Thank You
What an incredible community we live in. Thanks to so many generous individuals, organisations and businesses, our annual Christmas Hamper Drive was the biggest yet. When we asked, our community delivered – gifts of toys, home-baking, pantry staples, vouchers, cash and most importantly, aroha and compassion.
Here are a few of the highlights of this year’s Christmas Hamper Drive:
· Over $7700 raised through sausage sizzles, cake stalls, raffles and generous donations by individuals and businesses.
· The Kai Collective Te Awaroa had its biggest week ever with 75 families receiving a bumper food parcel with fresh produce, meat, essential items and a few Christmas treats.
· An amazing team of volunteers gave up their time to help with packing, pick-ups and deliveries.
· Countless smiles on faces on Christmas morning.
But don’t take our word for it. We asked those who received the hampers to tell us what the hampers meant to them. Here’s what they told us:
“I was blown away with the generosity of those who donated to help provide the amazing hampers. It truly made our Christmas. We are beyond grateful and would like to thank everyone involved.”
“It’s so amazing, my son loves his bike. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the food and gifts.”
“They were just absolutely amazing, beautiful and so much thought put into the hampers for everyone’s needs in our house. Thank you so much for considering us.”
“I couldn’t believe the amount of effort and love put into making mine and my son’s Christmas so great. I am a solo mum and it’s so appreciated.”
“Christmas would not have been the same for my whānau without the support from Kindred Family Services.”
On behalf of everyone who received a gift hamper or a kai pack, and on behalf of the entire Kindred Family Services and Kai Collective teams, thanks to everyone to played a part.
